At ease?

The other day, I read about an old lady who decided to leave her husband after 21years of being married to him. Everyone thought she was out of her mind for doing that; after all, she should have gotten used to all his shenanigans. She left and heaven didn’t fall. He just got a new habit of always targeting her eyeballs whenever he beat her. It is new, he normally would just rush at her and beat her all over.
Alas! she chose her eyeballs after all these years, it was the last straw.
Not too long ago, the tabloids had an unusual story of a man who had to run to his neighbor’s apartment for safety from an abusive wife. His friends had always noticed marks on his hands and face every now and then; but he always had a preplanned cover story. This time, he finally felt the need to escape from her rage because she came for his privates.
Eventually, his privates made him go public.
Alas! Lockdown wasn’t bliss for some humans, they had monster partners who made it hellish to be alive.
There is the frightened little girl with the twisted uncle. It is bad enough that he strings a lot of ladies along to satisfy his hellish weakness; he stole her innocence and destroyed her virginity but she was too afraid to speak. He had threatened to kill her.

Alas! The moment she was able to escape into the compound through the store window, she knew never to go back because she couldn’t take it anymore. He would not let her out of the house throughout the day. He raped her so many times every day. She was his only prey.

The other timid boy had been an object in his aunt’s bed every afternoon for the past few months and he couldn’t summon the courage to tell his strict mum because he had been told by his aunt that she won’t believe him.
Alas! His mum was napping on the couch that discovery Wednesday during the lockdown; when she heard sounds that gave their secret away. Well, at least the boy has been delivered from the weirdo and her nuances. He is still in therapy.

What shall I say?
Right now, we all stand at ease. Lockdown at ease
I shall say;  get help, talk to people, speak up and seek counsel.
No one deserves to be abused or even cooped up with twisted souls. They need help too not you. Leave to live.
Report the abuser before you are killed…

Stand at ease and the abuser no longer at ease.
